Winding roads, between the green of nature and olive trees and the blue of a clear sea, this is Puglia, the scenario of our adventure. A land that never changes and that amazes every time, our itinerary starts from here, from the beauty of the Apulian cities and from the sea, then go up towards the north and reach the Italian spur, the Gargano.

Day 1

WELCOME TO BARI

We will be waiting for you at Bari airport and from there we will take you to the hotel where the motorbikes will be ready and you will be given a presentation of the scheduled tour.

Don't make commitments for this evening, we have organized a dinner in a typical Apulian restaurant that you will hardly forget!
 

Day 2

Bari - Mattinata

Start the adventure along the Adriatic Sea and exploring the city and the most beautiful landscapes in the region.

After passing the beautiful cities of Bitonto, Ruvo and Molfetta, we will stop:

  • Trani, city of the Templars, where we will be able to admire the splendid Romanesque Cathedral that rises above the sea and the adjacent Svevo Castle, enjoying a good coffee at "Il Vecchio e il Mare";
  • Castel del Monte, visit to the UNESCO Heritage and fortress that belonged to Frederick II. An enchanting place where it will be possible to stop for lunch at Masseria Montegusto;
  • Margherita di Savoia, first stop after the resumption of the journey, where you can visit the natural salt marshes and refresh themselves with a coffee;
  • Mattinata, last stop on this first day of tour, after passing Manfredonia, where we will stop for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3

Mattinata - Lesina

Welcome to the Gargano, the spur of Italy, a unique natural area of its kind particularly appreciated by motorcyclists for routes and sparkling curves. Here are the stops, starting from Mattinata:

  • Baia delle Zagare, white limestone cliffs overlooking the sea and breathtaking views, motorcycle fun is guaranteed;
  • Pugnochiuso, where it will be possible to admire the Tower of Pugnochiuso, the fifth coastal tower of the territory of the Capitanata;
  • Vieste, the most visited Apulian seaside town in 2018 with almost 2 million tourists;
  • Peschici, here we will stop for lunch in the very famous restaurant "Il Trabucco da Mimì" where you will not miss the fresh fish and an incredible view of the old trabucco (fishing tool made of wood and ropes);
  • Foresta Umbra, millennial forest that we will cross immediately after lunch;
  • Lesina, municipality in the province of Foggia, part of the Gargano National Park, where we will stop for dinner and overnight stay.
     

Day 4

Lesina - Matera

After exploring the northern part of the region and the entire Gargano area, our journey on the saddle continues south:

  • Cerignola, important city in the province of Foggia, where we can visit the imposing Duomo visible from miles away;
  • Minervino Murge, in which we will be able to admire the splendid landscape that overlooks the Alta Murgia National Park;
  • Spinazzola, naturalistic stop thanks to the presence of the very special Bauxite Quarry, siliceous rocks with vivid and flaming colors;
  • Gravina di Puglia, not far from the Bauxite Quarry and an area of considerable historical value thanks to the presence of troglodyte dwellings. Here we will stop for lunch at the Osteria Murgiana, a traditional restaurant with traditional cuisine;
  • Altamura, a must for a unique culinary experience, a tasting at an ancient bakery of the famous PDO Altamura Bread;
  • Matera, small detour in Basilicata to visit a UNESCO World Heritage City and European Capital of Culture 2019 where we will stop for dinner and stay overnight.

Day 5

Matera - Lecce

A last look at the Sasso Caveoso of Matera from the famous lookout and then set off for another day of tour:

  • Gioia del Colle, city of mozzarella, where we will taste cheeses and typical products of the area;
  • Taranto, city between the two seas and from the famous swing bridge sung by Gabriele D’Annunzio in his famous poem, where we will stop for a typical lunch based on fish;
  • Grottaglie, Italian ceramics capital where we will meet one of the many workshops present and listen to the experience of local artisans;
  • Manduria, not far from Grottaglie, where we can visit the Primitivo Wine Museum;
  • Lecce, pearl of southern Italy, where we will discover the beautiful baroque architecture made of golden malleable stones. We will walk to discover the alleys and streets of the city and then head towards the restaurant and the hotel for overnight stay.

Day 6

Lecce - Ostuni

A day of tour dedicated to motorcycles and the sea, a whole journey in the blue of the Adriatic and the Ionian Sea, straight to the south:

  • Otranto, the city of the Canale d’Otranto which separates Italy from Albania, where we will visit the Castle with the three circular towers mentioned in Voltaire's «Le Baron d’Otrante» and a second Bauxite Quarry near the Punta Palascia lighthouse;
  • Santa Maria di Leuca, southernmost point of the boot where the two seas meet at the foot of the famous Santa Maria di Leuca lighthouse 50 meters high. Nearby we will visit Ponte Ciolo (crow, in dialect) which overlooks incredible turquoise waters and we will stop for lunch;
  • Gallipoli, also called Pearl of the Ionian Sea, where we will leave the bikes and take a walk to discover the city and the surrounding area;
  •     Ostuni, the White City really perched on three hills. It will be the final stop on this day when we will visit its historic center, dine in a typical restaurant and spend the night at the hotel.
     

Day 7

Ostuni - Savelletri

Still surrounded by the Apulian countryside and centuries-old olive trees with a visit to Masseria Brancati, always in the territory of Otranto, then move through the Selva di Fasano, a splendid natural expanse populated by oaks, holm oaks, pines, chestnuts, cypresses, firs and many other plant species, and reach:

  • Cisternino, municipality part of the Selva di Fasano overlooking the Valle d’Itria, where we will stop for lunch and rest;
  • Martina Franca, a few km from Cisternino, known for its baroque architecture and for an exceptional traditional cuisine;
  • Locorotondo, municipality in the province of Bari, which has around 146 districts of timeless charm;
  • Alberobello, famous for the Trulli since 1996 Unesco Heritage, where we will stop for dinner at Trattoria da Donato, historic restaurant and appreciated for its traditional cuisine;
  • Savelletri, seaside town known for its small fishing port and for the Archaeological Park of Egnazia, where we will spend the night in a hotel.
     

Day 8

Savelletri - Bari

The journey comes to an end, we retrace the curves of the Selva di Fasano, heading towards:

  • Castellana, or a visit to the unique Caves of Castellana, including the White Cave with a 70-meter vault and a bright white color;
  • Monopoli, a seaside town with one of the most active ports on the Adriatic Sea, where we will visit some of the famous 100 districts belonging to the city;
  • Polignano a Mare, pearl of the coast, known for the famous statue of Domenico Modugno and for the crystalline sea, here we will walk and learn more about the historical center of the city;
  • Bari, we will return to the place of departure, at the end of our journey, a pre-established stop for the return of the motorcycle.
